True Vision was born out of a passion
to continue helping individuals receive the best vision possible while looking and feeling their best in their eyewear.
Kim wasn’t ready to retire from the optical industry and wanted to remain an active part of the communities that surround her. She saw a need amongst individuals who want their eyewear to be both fashionable and functional while at affordable prices, an area that is often missed within the industry.

Meet Kim
Your Licensed Optician
Kim has been an active member of the optical industry since 1979 and hasn’t looked back since. When licensing came into effect in the optical industry in 1996, Kim ensured she followed all necessary steps and guidelines to obtain her license (and she has maintained it ever since!)
She has been fortunate to have worked and volunteered in various aspects of the industry throughout her years, including owning her own brick-and-mortar location, working with Optometry and Ophthalmology, being an educator and working with the Opticians Association of Canada - BC Chapter. She has also volunteered with the College of Opticians of BC (the regulatory body for Opticians), most recently serving her sixth year as the Finance Officer for the board.
During her time with the Opticians Association of Canada - BC Chapter, Kim thoroughly enjoyed travelling around the province, setting up vision screening events to educate about the importance of eye health and care. In response to her commitment to community service work, Kim received the College of Opticians of BC Excellence in Opticianry Award - Community Service Category!
Kim is committed to anti-racism and gender diversity access, inclusion, and safety in opticianry services and their regulation. She has contributed to initiatives that enhance Indigenous Anti-Racism, Cultural Safety & Humility in the profession of opticianry in what is now commonly called British Columbia.

We aspire to be known as the go-to professional for fashionable & affordable eyewear, while also being an educational resource for our customers.
Kim values the importance of regular eye health exams and understands the importance of good eyesight. She also understands that wearing glasses can be out of some individuals' comfort zones and wants to help her customers look their best, with the best vision, at the best prices.
