True Vision was born out of Kim's passion to keep doing what she loves most, helping people see clearly and feel confident in their eyewear.
After decades in the optical industry, Kim wasn't ready to retire. She loved being an active part of the communities around her, and she saw something missing in the industry: a way for people to get fashionable, functional eyewear at affordable prices without the overwhelm of traditional optical stores.
So she created True Vision Mobile, bringing the boutique eyewear experience directly to you.

Meet Kim McEachern
Your Licensed Optician
Kim has been an active member of the optical industry since 1979, and she hasn't looked back since.
When licensing came into effect in the optical industry in 1996, Kim ensured she followed all necessary steps and guidelines to obtain her license. She's maintained it with pride ever since, staying current with every requirement and continuing education opportunity.
Kim's Experience Spans the Entire Industry:
Throughout her 40+ year career, Kim has been fortunate to work and volunteer in virtually every aspect of optical care:
Owned her own brick-and-mortar location (so she understands both sides of the counter)
Worked with Optometry and Ophthalmology practices (giving her comprehensive clinical experience)
Served as an educator in the field (she loves teaching!)
Active member of the Opticians Association of Canada - BC Chapter
Volunteered with the College of Opticians of BC (the regulatory body for Opticians), most recently serving her sixth year as Finance Officer for the board
One of Kim's Favorite Roles:
During her time with the Opticians Association of Canada - BC Chapter, Kim thoroughly enjoyed travelling around the province, setting up vision screening events to educate communities about the importance of eye health and care.
That hands-on, community-focused work? That's what lights her up.
In recognition of her commitment to community service, Kim received the College of Opticians of BC Excellence in Opticianry Award in the Community Service Category—an honor she's incredibly proud of.
Kim's Commitment to Inclusive Care
Kim is deeply committed to anti-racism and gender diversity access, inclusion, and safety in opticianry services and their regulation.
She has actively contributed to initiatives that enhance Indigenous Anti-Racism, Cultural Safety & Humility in the profession of opticianry throughout what is now commonly called British Columbia.
